Albert Breer: Patriots love Drake Maye, accountability

Grant Halverson/Getty ImagesAlbert Breer discussed substantial offers made to the Patriots for their third overall pick but noted that they were serious about selecting Drake Maye during this morning's Toucher & Hardy radio program. He mentioned the Giants and Vikings as teams interested in Maye, with the Vikings being particularly aggressive. The Patriots ultimately chose Maye over other quarterback options like J.J. McCarthy or Michael Penix, opting to take a receiver instead.

FRED TOUCHER: As you predicted, as many people did, the Patriots day three. What were you hearing was being offered to the Patriots?
ALBERT BREER: Yeah, they had substantial offers over the course of the last week. Really? I don't know how serious they were ever about moving the pick. They really loved Drake, man. One of the interesting questions to ask, and I know this was asked internally with them, was to look at the two teams who want to come up. The Giants were Drake, Maye, or no one team. I mean that's clear now. It was either Drake Maye or we're not taking a quarterback now. The other two were out of play, right? But it wasn't Drake Maye or J.J. McCarthy, Drake Maye, or Michael Penix; it was Drake Maye or we're taking a receiver, which they did. And then the Vikings were hyper-aggressive to try to get Drake Maye. And then look what they did after that. They let JJ McCarthy come to them. So you can see the different levels. They saw those two players on who are the coaches. Those two teams, Kevin O'Connell and Brian Dobell. And that was a question that was asked inside the Patriots building over the last 48 hours. Why would we even think about moving off of this? Look at the two guys who really want This.

The definitive list of Sullivan’s Castle Island menu items – Toucher & Hardy
It's rumored I penned the article highlighting 14 delicious summer favorites to eat at Sullivan’s Castle Island. I'm here to share the truth.
It was long rumored that I wrote this article highlighting 14 delicious summer favorites to eat at Sullivan’s Castle Island, but as you know, INTEGRITY MATTERS to me. Long story short, it was actually someone from Hot 96.9 who originally crafted the article, but with Fred referencing it on the show, listeners believed this listicle was created by yours truly.
But with the summer months quickly approaching and goals needing to be reached, I have decided that maybe I should conduct my own power rankings of Sullivan Castle Island menu items, especially since they NOW have a second location in Hanover Crossing open year-round (Next to Marshfield... My old stomping grounds.)
So this isn't simply a list of summer menu items; this is a DEFINITIVE POWER RANKING of Sullivan's Castle Island menu items, which are available all year long!
Sullivan's kicked off back in 1951 over at Castle Island, serving up all sorts of goodies like hot dogs, fried clams, lobster rolls, burgers, chicken sandwiches, soft serve, and a bunch more.
Now, without further adieu, I give you the DEFINITIVE LIST of Sullivan's Castle Island menu items:
FRIED FISH SANDWICH/FISH & CHIPS
This is at the bottom of the list. Why? Because fish is gross to me. I don't enjoy it. I know i'm not giving you alot right now, but oh well. Deal it it, I guess.
GOOD WITH SALT & VINEGAR?: I don't know. Probably not, but who cares? Nasty.
CHEESE FRIES
Look... I'm not knocking their fries. They're delicious, ESPECIALLY with vinegar. But the cheese is too much. First, you have to eat them quickly or they'll get soggy. It's just too much for me, but what do I know?
GOOD WITH SALT & VINEGAR?: No
SHAKES
From here, everything is a toss up when it comes to rankings. I opted to begin with their milkshakes. Let me tell you, Sullivan's knows how to make milkshakes that brings all the boys to the yard. I would know. Wink.
GOOD WITH SALT & VINEGAR?: DELICIOUS with vinegar! Not so much with salt.
CLAM STRIPS
I have personally tried these and they are JUST delightful. Why? Because their clam strips are battered and fried to perfection, you silly goose!
GOOD WITH SALT & VINEGAR?: I did not try them with vinegar. However... I'd give it a try!
DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER
Two juicy Angus Beef patties topped with melted American cheese between a toasted burger bun. Does two patties intimidate you? They also serve a regular single patty cheeseburger, but be prepared to be judged!
GOOD WITH SALT & VINEGAR?: I knew I forgot to try it with vinegar! Check back. I promise i'll update!
HOT FUDGE SUNDAE
The hot fudge sundae is a Sullivan’s favorite... Especially on a hot summer day on Castle Island! It's got everything you need: Vanilla soft serve with hot fudge, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. I'd throw in a little caramel on it, but that's just me. Different strokes for different folks, amirite??
GOOD WITH SALT & VINEGAR: I'm gonna lean towards no. A hot fudge sundae wouldn't be good with vinegar. Or salt.
ONION RINGS
According to last year's list, Sullivan's Onion rings are "one of the most popular sides" on the menu. Ridiculous! We all know what the most popular side on the menu is. Dare I say... most popular ITEM!
GOOD WITH SALT & VINEGAR?: I bet onion rings with a side of vinegar would be a tasty treat!
LOBSTER ROLL
According to the website, their lobster roll is lightly dressed with mayo on a toasted hot dog roll. I'm more of lobster roll warm with butter, but I can go either way. I'm not picky. All I know is i'll be spending a darn fortune! I'm kidding, ofcourse
GOOD WITH SALT & VINEGAR?: I wouldn't recommend it.
HOT DOG
Do you ever not like a nice, hot, grilled hot dog sliced? You like it, right?
GOOD WITH SALT & VINEGAR?: "Unequivocally the Sweetest"
Crinkle Cut Fries
Ofcourse the crinkle-cut fries are at the top of the list! Why? Because they're hit among the masses. They're also delicious with salt and vinegar or without. Choose your own adventure!
GOOD WITH SALT & VINEGAR?: “You have to have the fries with salt & vinegar... or without. either way those fries are delicious. “
