After a memorable Wrestlemania the WWE Universe witnessed several championship matches that did not disappoint. Wrestlemania Night One kicked off with Rhea Ripley maintaining the Women’s World Championship against “The Man” Becky Lynch. The WWE tag team championships were finally split in a six-pack ladder match after being held by Damian Priest and Finn Balor (The Judgement Day). Austin Theory and Grayson Waller (A-Town Down Under) secured the Smackdown Tag Titles then R-Truth and The Miz (The Awesome Truth) captured the Raw Titles. Sami Zayn pulled off the biggest upset of the whole card as he captured the Intercontinental Championship against “The Ring General” Gunther after he held it for 666 days.

WrestleMania 40

Night 2 kicked off with Drew McIntyre dethroning Seth “Freakin’” Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. Unfortunately, McIntyres reign is cut short as he was attacked my CM Punk which allowed Damian Priest to cash in his Money in The Bank contract and capture the championship. Logan Paul maintained The United States Championship in a triple threat match against Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. Bayley got her revenge against Iyo Sky as she won the WWE Women’s Championship. Finally, Cody Rhodes finished his story by winning the WWE Championship and ending the legendary title run of Roman Reigns who held the title for 1,316 days. The WWE is in a new era and there are many questions regarding the future of these champions.

Raw Tag Team Championships

The Raw Tag Team Champions, The Awesome Truth had the biggest feud against the previous champions, The Judgement Day entering Wrestlemania. The backbone of the story was the comedic relationship between The Judgment Day and R-Truth. Prior to Wrestlemania 40, R-Truth had never won a match in the Showcase of The Immortals. It is likely that the company (WWE) wanted to give R-Truth his Wrestlemania moment and award him the win. HHH awarded new championships for the word heavyweight tag team champions.

Women’s World Championship

Rhea Ripley is considered to be the best female wrestler in the world. Her year-long reign shows as she dominated every challenger who shared the ring with her. In the Raw after Wrestlemania, she was attacked backstage by Liv Morgan and it will set up a championship match at Backlash. Ripley opened up Monday night raw this week and has vacated the title due to an injury caused by Morgan.  There will be a new champion

Intercontinental Championship

Sami Zayn wouldn’t have pulled off the ultimate upset against Gunther if it wasn’t for the training from Chad Gable who fans wanted to see face Gunther at Wrestlemania. Sami awarded Gable a championship match in Zayn’s hometown of Montreal, Canada. Chad Gable turned heel and will likely lead to a match between the two at Backlash and Chad Gable has a chance to become champion.

World Heavyweight Championship

Damian Priest stunned the WWE Universe with his successful Money in The Bank cash in at Wrestlemania. The WWE wants to push The Judgment Day to be the top faction in the company. That starts with the World Heavyweight Championship reign of Damian Priest. His first title defense will be against “Main Event” Jey Uso at Backlash. The length of Priest’s run is uncertain, but I do believe he will retain at this upcoming Premium Live Event. Check out this video on Priest

Smackdown Tag Team Championships

In one of the more unexpected championship wins at Wrestlemania 40, A-Town Down Under will have one of the more unexpected futures for their title reign. During the Smackdown after Wrestlemania, General Manager Nick Aldis announced that there will be a fatal four-way between The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins), New Catch Republic (Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate), Legado Del Fantasma (Angel & Berto), And The Authors of Pain (Akem & Rezar). I believe that A-Town Down Under will maintain against the winner of the match at Backlash. I also believe that they will hold the titles for a few months and lose to a hot tag team.

United States Championship

Logan Paul is still The United States Champion despite being one of the most controversial superstars in the WWE. On the Smackdown after Wrestlemania, A video was shown of Logan Paul teasing “The Apex Predator” Randy Orton. This will set up a match for the title at Backlash. I predict that Logan Paul will retain and hold the title before he loses it in Summerslam.

WrestleMania 40

WWE Women’s Championship

Ever since her Main Roster debut in 2016, Bayley has been on of the WWE’s top female superstars. After her title win at Wrestlemania, fans hope to see her have a good title reign and I believe she will. Her first title defense will be on the April 19th episode of Smackdown against Naomi. Bayley will retain and I believe her reign will go into the Fall of 2024 and will lose it via Money in The Bank cash in.

WWE Championship

Cody Rhodes has finally finished his story by capturing the title his father never could win. Now a new story has begun by defending it. As the new face of WWE, I wouldn’t be surprised if Cody Rhodes has a long title reign. His first challenger will be the winner of the Wrestlemania rematch between A.J. Styles and LA Knight. I predict A.J Styles will win and set up a dream match between the two superstars who both had very similar career paths. If the WWE wants Cody Rhodes to have a good reign, they need Cody to put up good great matches and A.J. Styles is the perfect man to start this reign.

It isn’t my decision on who wins or loses, but Triple H can, and he has started off this new era in the WWE the best way possible. This is an era where every WWE fan can only expect the unexpected. We don’t know what to expect for but there is a new sheriff in town. And is must watch every show.
