Robert Kraft has answered THE question surrounding Bill Belichick and his future after exiting from the Patriots: will Belichick continue coaching?
That sounds like a definitive yes, after the Patriots owner and now-former head coach held a joint press conference on Thursday in which they both gave statements addressing their decision to part ways. After days of speculation whether Belichick would be out as Patriots head coach in the first place, let alone where he could end up next, the Belichick era is officially over in New England.
But based on Kraft’s statement, the Belichick era is about to begin with another team. Here’s the piece that told us what’s next for Belichick in the NFL:
“It’ll be difficult to see him in a cutoff hoodie on the sideline, but I will always continue to wish him continued success, except for when he’s playing our beloved Patriots.”

Obviously, he means seeing Belichick in a cutoff hoodie for another franchise. And based on the initial reporting, even before the news became official on Thursday, Belichick will have at least a few interested suitors.
So, this won’t be a forced retirement, or anything like that. He won’t be pulling a Pete Carroll and exiling to a nebulous “advisor” role. Belichick will continue to coach, and get an opportunity to pull a Tom Brady instead, and win a Super Bowl after leaving the Patriots.
Among the teams with head coach openings, as of Thursday, that may have interest in Belichick, are the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, and Los Angeles Chargers. Read more on all of Belichick’s potential suitors below.

What's next for Bill Belichick?
Bill Belichick’s time with the New England Patriots has come to an end. On Thursday morning, it was reported that Belichick and the Patriots will part ways after a 24-year run that saw Belichick win six Super Bowls on his way to become the greatest coach in the history of the sport.
The Patriots’ next steps, while not easy, are pretty linear. There will be a new head coach, and new general manager (potentially two different people this time), and the team will begin a new era in the 2024 season.

As for Belichick? It sounds like he wants to keep going.
“Bill Belichick will want to continue coaching and is expected to draw interest from at least some of the other seven NFL teams that currently have head coach vacancies,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Thursday morning.
“Sources close to Belichick have said this week they believe he still wants to chase down this record,” Sources close to Belichick have said this week they believe he still wants to chase down this record. ‘This record’ refers to the all-time wins record for an NFL head coach. Belichick leaves the Patriots at 333 career wins, 15 behind long-time Miami Dolphins coach Don Shula.
Where Belichick will chase that record will be one of the biggest questions in the NFL for the immediate future. Prior to his departure from the Patriots being reported, there was a flurry of reporting on possible suitors with some information trickling out throughout the day on Thursday. Here’s a look at the teams most linked to Belichick (and one that isn’t)…
