Beetle: You can’t prove Jayson Tatum doesn’t care about winning
On Tuesday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, Beetle went off about certain Celtics fans claiming that Jayson Tatum doesn’t care about winning.
What’s wrong with wanting to go to Vegas?
Marc Bertrand: criticism of Jayson Tatum all the time that, oh, he just wants to be MVP. He cares about his shoe. He cares about just being in the group of elite NBA players. What’s wrong with all of those things?
Scott Zolak: Nothing’s wrong with it. That’s what happens when you’re a superstar.
Marc Bertrand: There’s nothing wrong with all of those things. The thing that would be wrong is if he were somehow satisfied by just getting those things and you can’t prove that haters. You Tatum haters, you can’t prove that that is the case. You like to think it’s the case that he doesn’t care about winning and that he doesn’t care about getting a championship. You like to make that up. The truth is, there’s nothing wrong with an NBA player wanting to be in Vegas for the final four of the in-season tournament. There’s nothing wrong with that. I have no issue.
Scott Zolak: Of course you don’t Mr. In-Season Tournament guy. I could care less that they didn’t go. I think the tournament stupid because it’s about the NBA finals and what is real. All these little fake things like this is important now and we’re going to make sure everybody cares about this. No, I’m not going to sit here and say like, oh what a bummer they didn’t go. What a loser team. I couldn’t care less.
Marc Bertrand: It is a bummer. I’m bummed.
Scott Zolak: Let the other teams go to Vegas and have fun. That’s really what it is. It’s a fun little tournament, a little money bump and all that.
Marc Bertrand: Tonight, we would be watching the Bucks game with great interest. That’s gone.
