Zolak & Bertrand: Have the Patriots Hit Rock Bottom?
On Tuesday’s edition of Zolak and Bertrand, the guys question if the Patriots has truly hit rock bottom after their 10-7 loss to the New York Giants.
We’ve seen rock bottom a few times already…
Zolak: There’s a difference between things going bad and, like, rock bottom is rock bottom.
Bertrand: So my guess my question is this. Can this get worse?
Hardy: Yes, because we’ve seen rock bottom three times now. We saw it against the Saints. We saw it against the Cowboys. We saw it against the commanders. We saw it against the Colts. We’ve seen it 4 or 5 times.
Zolak: He’s right.
Bertrand: I’ve seen it once. I think that you can only define there being one rock bottom, and once you’re there, nothing can really be any worse. Losing at home to the commanders. To me was the day that you said, oh, this is it. This team absolutely blows and this is the confirmation. And everything after that is at that point, sort of expected. You know, you fell apart against the commanders at home. Oh, losing to the Colts, No surprise. Losing to the Giants. That’s not a surprise.
Hardy: Losing to the Colts wasn’t a surprise?
Zolak: Of Course it was.
Hardy: That absolute egg you played in Germany, 10-6?
Zolak: you thought you hit rock bottom against the commanders. We thought, okay, it can’t get any worse. You can’t make the same critical, horrendous mistakes. And they did. This is why I think they thought, we could play Mac Jones because it can’t get any worse. And it did. He got worse in two weeks, week to week, to where he got pulled in both games, one with four points down, one with two minutes left yanked.
Bertrand: I’m only pushing back against that the Giants game was some new low. I mean I expected that to happen.
