Massachusetts: Here Is The Holiday Tree Lighting Schedule
Halloween and October are officially over so that can only mean one thing. We’ve transitioned into the remainder of the year being the Christmas holiday season. To prepare, we have laid out the Massachusetts tree lighting schedule, including the major Boston attractions.
The music will certainly start today, but the tree lightings don’t start until November 20. So, we will have about three weeks to prepare before much of the city is in full festive mode.
Meet Boston has published all of the details on the 2023 tree lighting schedule. “From ships to festively festooned landmarks and entire neighborhoods, you’ll discover that we’re pretty serious about our holiday lighting ceremonies,” they say.
Alas, here are the tree lighting ceremony dates in the greater Boston area, as of now, that we have to look forward to.

Important Notes
There are a few key differentiators for those looking for which Boston tree lighting you would like to attend. In fact, you may find something in each of them that would make you want to partake in each one. Meet Boston relayed that Santa is “likely” to make an appearance at both the Faneuil Hall and Ship Lighting at Martin’s Park. It’s a good thing they are on separate days. For those unfamiliar, the Martin’s Park Ship Lighting is kid-friendly, hence the late afternoon start. It includes caroling and hot cocoa.
Although we have to wait until November 20 to start lighting holiday trees in Boston, the Snowport market in the Seaport district begins on November 10. It will remain open through December 31.
