Bill Belichick

Unfortunately, it’s looking like Bill Belichick’s time in New England has come to an end. As of this morning (Thursday, 1/11) Adam Schefter from ESPN is reporting that the Patriots are parting ways with the legendary head coach that has brought us 6 Super Bowl championships. Regardless of your feeling on this matter, you can NOT deny the importance that Bill has had on the Patriots organization in the 24 years he’s been the team’s head coach.

Let’s first take a look at Bill’s accomplishments. Bill has led the New England Patriots to six Super Bowl titles (2002, 2004, 2005, 2015, 2017, and 2019). This is the most of any NFL head coach. Under Belichick, the Patriots have a regular-season record of 262–108–0 over 23 seasons which makes him by far the most successful head coach in Patriots history. He has also led the Patriots to 17 divisional titles. As of today, Bill Belichick has 302 career wins which puts him third on the all time list behind George Halas and Don Shula. Where will Bill end up? That has yet to be known. And better yet, who will become the next head coach of the Patriots? That is also up in the air but the clear cut favorites include Jerod Mayo and now Mike Vrabel.

As we celebrate Bill’s legacy here in New England, we also want to reminisce about his most memorable moments. Particularly those that made us laugh. Bill isn’t known to be the funny guy. He’s typically very subdued and doesn’t give us much in press conferences. However, we found 6 of our favorite Bill Belichick moments that made us love him even more. 6 for the number of championships he helped bring us here in New England. Thank you Bill for all the memories.

  • "I don't have Snap Face"

We all remember Bill talking publicly about social media. In fact, he’s always gotten the names of social media platforms wrong. In this instance, he was talking before the 2016 AFC Championship game saying “Not on SnapFace, not too worried what they put on InstaChat.”

  • The day we met his dog Nike

We all remember draft day win 2020 when Bill was at his home in Nantucket. It was right after drafting Kyle Dugger in the second round when the camera panned to who they thought would be Bill but it ended up being his Alaskan Klee Kai dog Nike.

  • Bill dressing up for Halloween

Who would’ve thought Bill loved Halloween this much. In the Patriots in 2009 for the documentary series “A Football Life,” people were talking about the clip of Randy Moss talking to Bill in his office about their Halloween party. Bill then decided to dress up for the occasion.

  • Bill leaves kids hangin' in Detroit

Bill won’t necessarily give you a high five. Even if you’re a kid. This happened in Ford Field in 2018. Bill may not have noticed the kids because he was so focused but either way, it gave us a viral moment.

  • "We're on to Cincinnati"

Bill’s press conference where he was answering questions about whether or not the Patriots dynasty was over. The team had just gotten blown out by Kansas City and was 2-2 on the season. Bill wanted us all to know “We’re on to Cincinnati.”
