Triston Casas is already showing off his power in Triple-A (Video)
Triston Casas has quickly made his presence felt in Worcester.
In just his second game at the Triple-A level, Casas homered and drove in two runs against the Rochester Red Wings. Casas showed off his smooth swing and impressive raw power as he took a 3-2 fastball to the opposite field. The first baseman went 1-for-4 and also struck out twice, so it wasn’t a perfect night. But the WooSox came out of it with a 4-3 win, so they’ll take it.
The No. 1 or 2 prospect in the Red Sox system, depending on where you rank shortstop Marcelo Mayer, Casas is the Red Sox’ closest thing to a prospect that should imminently make an impact in the major leagues.
