Red Sox place Jarren Duran on COVID reserve list
The Boston Red Sox announced Friday that they’ve placed outfielder Jarren Duran on the COVID 19-related injured list.
To fill Duran’s spot on the active roster, the Red Sox recalled infielder Jonathan Araúz from Triple-A Worcester. Duran has played 17 games for the Red Sox since being called to the major leagues for the first time, and has batted .176 with a .557 OPS.
Per multiple reports, Red Sox Manager Alex Cora said in a video conference Friday that Duran has not tested positive for COVID-19 but is exhibiting symptoms and awaiting test results.
