Celtics’ Jaylen Brown upgraded for meeting vs. Clippers
A Tuesday night showdown with the Clippers will see the Celtics take the court with both of their 2021 All-Stars available, with Jaylen Brown (knee soreness) upgraded to ‘available’ for the Green.
Held out of Sunday’s win over the Wizards, and hit with the ‘questionable’ designation Monday, the upgrade is undeniably good news for the Celtics, with Brown averaging a career-high 25 points and four assists per game, along with a career-high 49.6 field goal percentage, through 31 games this season.
Brown’s upgrade means that Romeo Langford (wrist surgery rehab) and Marcus Smart (calf) will be the only C’s players officially ruled out of this contest.
The Celtics won their prior head-to-head with the Clippers by a 119-115 at Staples Center on Feb. 5.
These teams have combined for some tremendous basketball since Kawhi Leonard and Paul George decided to team up for the Clips, too, with all three of their meetings since 2019 decided by no more than eight points, and with both 2019-20 head-to-heads requiring at least one overtime. The Celtics have won two of those three games.
