Reports: PawSox About To Become The WooSox
Multiple reports say that the Pawtucket Red Sox will pack it up and move 42 miles north, across state lines from Rhode Island to Worcester, Massachusetts.
According to MassLive.com, Worcester city officials will make an official announcement on Friday afternoon, that they’re bringing the AAA affiliate of the Boston Red Sox to Massachusetts’ second largest city.
The PawSox, who have played at Pawtucket’s McCoy Stadium for 48 years, will become the WooSox in the near future.
The current lease at McCoy runs out in 2021. An official announcement is expected tomorrow around 2pm, according to reports.
Don’t be surprised if there’s a press conference tomorrow afternoon at Worcester City Hall...
