Zolak & Bertrand

Patrick Mahomes is back in the spotlight ahead of this third Super Bowl appearance in four years with the Kansas City Chiefs. With one Super Bowl ring already wrapped around his finger, Mahomes is building a resume that could potentially catch up to that of Tom Brady’s.

On Monday’s Zolak & Bertrand radio program—live from Radio Row in Phoenix, AZ—the guys sit down with Bert Breer of the MMQB to discuss where Mahomes fits on the list of all-time great quarterbacks.

  • Mahomes GOAT Conversation

Marc Bertrand: Alright, Bert. We’re going to talk about the game this weekend and how Patrick Mahomes is already entering the [GOAT] conversation.

    Bert Breer: It’s unbelievable.

Bertrand: Greatest of all time? What are we doing here?

Breer: Mahomes has five straight home AFC title games, three Super Bowl appearances, and potentially two championships.

Bertrand: That’s great. I mean, that’s an amazing start to a career, but he’s not quite there.

Breer: No, he’s not there yet.

Bertrand: He could very well be on his way.

Breer: I think he’s set the baseline. He’s laid the foundation for making a run at that eventually. He’s got a shot at it. But, with a lot of work to do.

The foundation is there. This guy could actually make a run at it. He’s 27 years old, right? Brady was 27 when he won his third [Super Bowl].
