The New England Patriots added rookie linebacker Nate Wieland to the 90-man roster Tuesday, as reported by Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus on Tuesday.
Wieland finished his collegiate career at Grand View University, an NAIA school that lost in its national championship. Wieland was a first-team All-American, totaling 70 tackles, along with a sack, forced fumble and interception.
The 6-foot-4, 234-pound linebacker started his college football career at the University of Iowa, but transferred after one redshirt season. The 23-year-old participated in New England’s rookie minicamps this spring.
