Patriots getting healthier, Titans missing 10 players at Wednesday practice
All things considered, the Patriots are in a relatively good position health-wise for Week 12 of the NFL season. The team has just 11 players on the first injury report of the week, all listed as ‘limited’ participants in Wednesday’s practice.
Only two names are on the list that didn’t appear last week. Tight end Hunter Henry (neck) is on the injury report for the first time this year, while defensive tackle Christian Barmore (knee) is back after being listed earlier in the season with a foot injury. Running back Damien Harris had his injury changed from ‘concussion’ to ‘neck.’
The remaining players returning from last week are tight end Jonnu Smith (shoulder), guard Shaq Mason (abdomen), tackle Trent Brown (calf), linebackers Ja’Whaun Bentley (ribs), Dont’a Hightower (ankle), and Kyle Van Noy (groin), kicker Nick Folk (leftt knee), and punter Jake Bailey (right knee). Running back Brandon Bolden, wide receivers N’Keal Harry and Gunner Olszewski, and defensive end Deatrich Wise do not appear on the report after being listed last week.
Meanwhile, the Titans are more notable right now for their injuries than their play on the field. In recent weeks the team has had to place some of its top playmakers on IR including running back Derrick Henry, wide receiver Julio Jones, and linebacker Bud Dupree. However, the IR list only tells part of the story.
16 players are listed on Wednesday’s injury report for Tennessee, including 10 who missed practice. Among them are running back Jeremy McNichols (concussion), wide receiver A.J. Brown (chest), guard Nate Davis (concussion), and linebackers Rashaan Evan (ankle) and Harold Landry (hamstring). All play key roles for the Titans when healthy.
Backup quarterback Logan Woodside was also missing from practice, and has since been placed on the COVID reserve list. The team has no other known cases at this time, and starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill told reporters back in the summer that he has received the COVID-19 vaccine.
Both teams are off tomorrow for Thanksgiving, and will put out projected injury reports. That means the next real update on these players will likely come when game statuses are announced on Friday.
