7 players miss first Patriots practice of Week 8
The New England Patriots were without seven players for their first practice of Week 8 as they begin preparing to play the New York Jets.
As the New England Patriots begin to prepare for their Week 8 matchup against the New York Jets, they’re dealing with mounting injury issues. 15 players appeared on the first injury report of the week on Wednesday, including seven who didn’t participate in practice.
That seven includes three players who didn’t appear on the report last week – wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk (concussion), guard Layden Robinson (ankle), and defensive end Keion White (ankle). The other four non-participants were running back Rhamondre Stevenson (foot/personal), tackle Vederian Lowe (ankle), and linebackers Anfernee Jennings (shoulder/knee) and Curtis Jacobs (knee/illness).
Six other Patriots were limited on Wednesday. That group includes two more offensive linemen in Sidy Sow (illness) and Michael Jordan (ankle). Linebacker Sione Takitaki (knee) and defensive backs Kyle Dugger (ankle), Jonathan Jones (shoulder), and Marte Mapu (neck) all remain from last week.
Quarterback Drake Maye (knee) is listed as a full participant for the second week in a row. Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne (knee) was a full participant as well.
For the Jets, four players missed practice including wide receiver Allen Lazard (chest). Quarterback Aaron Rodgers (knee/hamstring) was limited and listed with a new hamstring injury. In total the Jets listed also listed 15 players, with the full injury report below…
