Toucher & Hardy: Leftover Stack Stack feat. Kowloon, Bruno Mars & Arthur the King
Hardy here! you know… the co-host of Toucher & Hardy. We weren’t able to get to the entire Stack during the show. When that happens, it goes here. We call it the “Leftover Stack Stack”! Neat, huh?
Before we get to the Tuesday Stack on Toucher and Hardy, let’s take a look at the things we missed from the things we missed on Monday. In other words, the stack of stuff we didn’t get to from the stack of stuff we didn’t get to.
1.) KOWLOON ON THE MOON

Ok, maybe not on the moon. But if Jim Lawlor had it his way, that’s next.
It seems many people who grew up eating Kowloon and similar NECF (New England Chinese Food) move away to find the Chinese food isn’t the same in California, Florida, and probably China. And there’s something to that assertion, which you can read about here: https://www.boston.com/food/food-news/2024/03/13/new-england-boston-chinese-food-delivery-service/.
So what do you do? Go to https://www.bamboosnationinterstate.com, and Jim will drive to your favorite hometown Chinese restaurant, order whatever you want, freeze it, ship it, and voila! You’re tummy says you’re back home, even if you’re thousands of miles from Saugus, MA.
2.) BRUNO MAR(KER)S

We did talk about the original story, but there’s been an update.
In a nutshell; Bruno Mars took out millions in markers from MGM casinos, and to get out of paying them back, he signed a multiyear contract to perform and pay off his debt. The casino now says it’s all nonsense. You can read the original story and update here:
I’d love it if this story were true, but the numbers don’t exactly add up. Mars owes $50 million to the casino, but he’s going to make $90 million a year on this deal? Why would they pay him so much beyond what he owes them?
Hmmmm…maybe because they know he’ll gamble it all back to them. Maybe it makes sense after all!
3.) ARTHUR THE KING

I’ve never heard of this movie, and I guess that’s the point. It’s a Mark Wahlberg sports-dog thing (don’t ask me) but it had a terrible opening weekend, and there’s an interesting theory behind the poor showing. You can read the whole thing here but it boils down to this; why go to the theater to see Marky Mark when you can see his straight to streaming movies at home?
