Nathan Eovaldi leads Rangers to World Series
The Texas Rangers have won the World Series over the Arizona Diamondback in 5 games after a 5-0 close-out win. It’s the first world series win for the Rangers after having it in the grasp 12 years ago. Corey Seager was named World Series MVP, but the performance of Nathan Eovaldi should not go unnoticed. He pitched six shutout innings and picked up the win, his fifth of this postseason, and improved to 9-3 with a 3.05 ERA in the playoffs and World Series. Arizona was 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position against him.
Eovaldi, who spent over 4 season in Boston, won his second world series and was dominant throughout the playoffs. Something many Red Sox fans saw during his time in Boston. During an epic 18 inning loss in Game 3 of the World Series in 2018, he threw 6 innings on 97 pitches out of the bullpen before Max Muncy sent everyone home. Eovaldi suffered the loss but was applauded for his performance as the Red Sox went on to defeat the Dodgers, giving him his first ring.
It is reported the Red Sox made several offers to Eovaldi to keep him in Boston. He shopped a 3 year 51 million dollar deal and when he came back to the negotiating table, the team moved on. They allocated that money signing Kenley Jansen and Corey Kluber. He settled on a 2 year, 34 million dollar contract with Texas. With 2 world series rings and a dominant playoff resume, Eovaldi should expect a big pay day in 2025.
Nathan Eovaldi is a big winner from a World Series that was not highly rated. The biggest winner of all is the band Creed. I wrote an article recently about the unwarranted hate for the band.
The Rangers were looking for inspiration. Corey Seager led the charge, playing it in the locker room. It inspired the locker room and brought out fans and haters of the band. The 99′ tour will feature Creed & 3 doors down. The Rangers never lost after they announced the tour. It is not an illusion, Creed and the Texas Rangers are world Champions.
