Patriots fans have certainly showed out through the first two days of 2023 training camp. The attendance for the first practice of the summer on Wednesday was announced as over 6,000 people, and that number will likely be higher on Thursday as fans were moved into Overflow attendance today for Patriots training camp, with fans up on the ramps during practice pic.twitter.com/j5TfaKYuDm

For those that haven’t had a chance to see the team in Foxborough yet – or want to go again – the team has added four additional dates to its training camp schedule. That’s in addition to two additional dates that were already on the books.
The Patriots will return to practice on Friday, with that session starting at 9:30 a.m. with gates opening to fans at 8:00. After an off day on Saturday, they’ll be back on the field Sunday at 12:30, with gates at 11:00.
Previously, that’s as far as the Patriots were scheduled out. They’ve now added practices Monday through Thursday. The Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday practices will start at 9:00 a.m. with gates opening at 8:00. Tuesday’s practice will start at 12:30, with the gates opening at 11:00.
All Patriots training camp sessions are free and open to the public. More information can be found on the Patriots’ website. For a recap of the first two days of Patriots training camp, check out our recap notebooks from Day 1 and Day 2.

11 Patriots who stood out on day 1 of 2023 training camp in Foxboro
The New England Patriots finally kicked off 2023 training camp in Foxboro on Wednesday morning. Here are 10 players (and a coach) who stood out to us in practice, for one reason or another…
WR JuJu Smith-Schuster

Finally, we got to see Smith-Schuster in uniform and in action on the field. But we admit that we’re stretching for standouts after what was a light start to training camp. That said, Smith-Schuster caught a pass that he carried into the end zone for a “touchdown” during an 11-on-11 red zone drill.
It was a simple, short catch over the middle, but if the Patriots are to have a productive offense in 2023, they’re going to need Smith-Schuster to move the ball with those simple plays on a consistent basis. His catch also came after two straight incompletions by Mac Jones to start 11-on-11, one of which was a throwaway due to pressure.

So, we can give Smith-Schuster credit for settling things down and being a safety valve for Jones. He also brought the positive energy between plays, pumping up the crowd and by extension his teammates. Mac Jones was certainly happy to have him out there.
“JuJu loves football and you can see the juice that he brings,” Jones said after practice. “He’s definitely really embraced everything. He’s working really hard, always doing the right thing. So we just got to be consistent and I know that he can bring that veteran leadership.”
