The Bruins and Celtics seasons may be over but their arena is still getting some attention. US Betting Report recently published its “most valuable sports venue” ranking and TD Garden came in towards the top.
This evaluation was compiled by taking the total square footage of each sports venue and then multiplying it by the average price per square foot of their surrounding neighborhood. Per US Betting Report, “With these figures, we then multiplied them by the average price-per-square-foot of the surrounding neighborhood to discover each stadium/area price at the median price per square foot. ” The square footage of every NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL stadium or arena in America was pulled for the study.

TD Garden is 6th
At 750,000 square feet, the TD Garden has an estimated worth of $800.3 million. It’s $1,060 per square foot, was the fourth highest among the most valuable. Madison Square Garden ranked first. The home of the Rangers and Knicks comes in at an estimated $1.83 billion valuation.
SoFi Stadium (Chargers / Rams) in Los Angeles and Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara (49ers) rounded out the top three.
The Numbers By Sport
US Betting Report broke this information down even further by narrowing in on the value of each stadium by professional sport. Here, Boston venues had very favorable performance. The homes of each of the four major sports were among the most valuable.
To start, in the NHL, the TD Garden is the second most valuable hockey arena. In the NBA, only the Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets, and New York Knicks can claim their homes are worth more. Shifting to the outdoor venues, Gillette Stadium would be listed at $653.6 million. That ranks the Patriots’ place as the sixth most valuable NFL stadium. Lastly, we go to MLB. This is a fascinating comparison because Fenway Park is one of the older venues in professional baseball. In addition, it has a lower seating capacity than most parks. However, it is situated in the middle of the city in a very active area of Boston.
Nonetheless, even with the smallest square footage (by far) Fenway Park still would cost about $1,040 per square foot. This has them batting ninth on the list of most valuable MLB ballparks, out of all 30.
