Patriots reportedly one of eight teams set to meet with top guard in NFL Draft
Heading into the 2022 NFL Draft, guard is one of the biggest positions of need for the Patriots. They lost both of last season’s starters in Ted Karras (free agency) and Shaq Mason (trade). Michael Onwenu projects to fill one spot, but the other remains wide open for the taking.
So it shouldn’t come as a surprise to see the Patriots are one of a handful of teams set to meet with Texas A&M’s Kenyon Green, Sources: Texas A&M All-American OL Kenyon Green, who made starts at every single offensive line position except center this past season, is with the #Cowboys today.
Also on his schedule: Giants, Eagles, Titans, Texans, Falcons, Bears and Patriots.
Busy.
Whichever team drafts Green should get an immediate starter at either tackle position. He’s already got NFL size at 6-foot-4, 323 pounds and has plenty of experience having started 35 games over the last three years for the Aggies. Green primarily played left guard, but started at both guard and both tackle spots during the 2021 season.

Green is currently projected to go at some point in the 20’s, meaning there’s a good chance the Patriots will have a shot to draft him. However, there’s clearly plenty of interest in him, with seven other teams set to meet with him in the coming days. Of those seven, four pick ahead of the Patriots in the Giants, Eagles, Texans, and Falcons. New York, Philly, and Houston all have multiple picks in the top 20 as well. The other teams set to meet with Green are the Cowboys, Titans, and Bears.
With Green being the top player at his position, it’s not unrealistic to think a team could reach on him or even perhaps move up to get him. If he does make it to 21, he’s a name to know for the Patriots.
The Patriots have another meeting with a potential 21st overall pick set for this week as well. Cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. will reportedly be in town on Friday. Here’s a full list of the players the Patriots have met with or will meet with leading up to the NFL Draft…
