Kyle Van Noy really wants the Patriots to revive the ‘Pat Patriot’ throwbacks
Kyle Van Noy is itching to don a red jersey.
The Patriots linebacker recently tweeted a photo of himself as he would look in New England’s throwback jerseys, which include the classic “Pat Patriot” logo. Here’s how Van Noy might look if and when the Patriots dusted off the vintage uniforms:

Van Noy’s tweet wasn’t totally random. In case you missed it, the NFL has voted to repeal a rule that previously prevented teams from wearing different helmets from their normal ones during the season. The so-called “One Shell Rule” has been in effect since 2013, and the Patriots have avoided wearing their red throwback jerseys because of it, since they would’ve had to wear their modern “Flying Elvis” helmet designs with them.
Now, teams will be allowed to wear alternate helmet shells. So the possibility has reopened for the Patriots to revive the red throwback jerseys and white Pat Patriot helmets, which they last wore on Oct. 21, 2012 against the New York Jets.
Our own Alex Barth ranked the red throwbacks No. 1 on his definitive Patriots uniform rankings, which came out last week. You can see the full list below.
