It sounds like Julian Edelman has avoided a major injury to his rib area.
According to Source on Julian Edelman: “He’ll be good” … Another indication that the injury isn’t major and he hasn’t been ruled out for this week. https://t.co/n4a6hAX0BU
Edelman went for X-rays after Sunday’s win over the Jets, and they came back negative. After Edelman likely went for further testing on Monday, Rapoport’s source sounds confident that he didn’t suffer an injury that would keep him out for extended time. Rapoport indicates that Edelman hasn’t been ruled out for Week 4 at the Buffalo Bills.
Edelman left Sunday’s 30-14 win late in the second quarter after he made a catch then got up favoring his rib area. He took a pair of hits from defensive tackle Henry Anderson and ex-Patriots linebacker Harvey Langi on the play where he got injured.
He had reeled in seven of 10 targets for 62 yards and a touchdown prior to the injury. Edelman’s exit forced rookies Jakobi Meyers and Gunner Olszewski into the game for more regular roles.
It’s likely we’ll see him on this week’s injury report, but for now it appears that he won’t need to miss significant time.
