Revs coach Bruce Arena suspended two games, fined $15,000 for confronting officials
New England Revolution head coach Bruce Arena has been suspended two additional games and fined $15,000 for “confronting game officials” after receiving a red card following the Revs’ 1-0 loss to the Philadelphia Union on July 25. He previously received a one-game suspension.
MLS Commissioner Don Garber announced Arena’s suspension and fine on Monday, describing his transgression as “confrontational conduct and unacceptable and offensive language directed towards match officials” (via the Associated Press).
Arena confronted officials after the July 25 game and received a suspension for the Revs’ August 20 game, also against Philadelphia. He will now additionally miss New England’s next two games, Tuesday against D.C. United and Saturday’s match against the New York Red Bulls.

Per the AP, players were also upset with officials for not awarding the Revs a final corner kick during extra time in the July 25 loss.
