Ian Rapoport addresses all those reports about Tom Brady and new houses with Zolak & Bertrand

Top NFL insider Ian Rapoport joined 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Zolak & Bertrand on Thursday, as the guys continue to work out of Radio Row in Miami for Super Bowl LIV. And of course, the main topic was the Patriots and the future of Tom Brady.
“Rap Sheet” wasn’t exactly going to break any big stories with Zo & Beetle. But he did give them an interesting nugget regarding all those reports that have been swirling around for months about Brady and his interest in – or actual purchasing of – new homes.
Fresh rumors bubbled up this week about a move to Las Vegas. Professional handicapper Brandon Lang told Felger & Mazz that Brady bought a home in Vegas, and Zolak & Bertrand’s own Rob “Hardy” Poole says sources in the Vegas area told him the same. In addition, Brady and his family have long been rumored to be looking at houses in the Greenwich, Conn. area.
Rapoport admitted he’s here for the Brady speculation just like everyone else. But his sense of the situation is that no matter where Brady’s permanent home is next season, it won’t necessarily be related to where he plays football.
“Tom Brady buying houses doesn’t dictate where he’s gonna play next year,” Rapoport said, “because wherever he plays next year, he’s not gonna buy, he’s gonna rent.” He added that the family will move around with Brady wherever he goes, comparing it to Philip Rivers’ situation with his family and constant travel between work and home.
After all, it’s not like Brady couldn’t afford to rent a nice condo in Boston or Vegas or Dallas or California or wherever, if he needed to. At the end of the day, the team he chooses for 2020 will be based more on the actual team and not the city in which they play.
