List of New England Patriots opponents set for 2025
The list of the New England Patriots 2025 opponents is already set with one week to go in the 2024 season.
The New England Patriots 2025 opponents are now fully, officially set. The schedule itself won’t be released until May, but we now know all 14 teams that will be on it.
Each team’s NFL schedule is predetermined by a formula the league has used for a few years now. It includes two games against each in-division opponent, plus one game each against every team from another in-conference division (with the division rotating every three years), one game each against each team in a non-conference division (rotating every four years), the remaining two teams in the same conference that finished in the same spot in the standings within their division, and one team from the opposite conference that finished in the same spot in the respective division (with that division rotating every four years).
This year in addition to their AFC East schedule, the Patriots will play the full AFC North and NFC South. They’ll also play one team from the NFC East.
Usually it takes until the final week of the season to see the full slate for the next year. However, because of the way the standings lay out, their 2025 opponents are already set with one week to go.
When the NFL expanded the regular season to 17 games in 2021, each team had to play an uneven number of home and away games. The AFC and NFC alternate having the extra home game each year. This year, the Patriots have the extra home game.
Putting that whole thing together, here’s who the full list of Patriots 2025 opponents…
Home opponents:
–Buffalo Bills
–Miami Dolphins
–New York Jets
–Pittsburgh Steelers
–Cleveland Browns
–Las Vegas Raiders
–Atlanta Falcons
–Carolina Panthers
–New York Giants
Away opponents:
–Buffalo Bills
–Miami Dolphins
–New York Jets
–Baltimore Ravens
–Cincinnati Bengals
–Tennessee Titans
–New Orleans Saints
–Tampa Bay Buccaneers
With it being early, this appears to be an easier schedule than the Patriots have had in the past. They do have to face the three leading MVP contenders in Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, and Josh Allen (twice), but also face a number of teams that could have new quarterbacks in 2025. That includes the potential for multiple rookie quarterbacks coming to Gillette Stadium with visits from the Raiders, Giants, and Browns.
Beyond their division, the Patriots only have two rematches on their 2025 schedule. Both of those come on the road, with trips to the Bengals and Titans.
