The ACC has many changes this season as the conference will expand to 17 programs with the arrival of SMU, California, and Stanford. I'm not sure why two teams from California are in the conference but the ACC never really makes sense. Just as Florida State was left out of the College Football Playoff after an undefeated regular season. Mike Norvell was very vocal about not making the playoff and got waxed in the Orange Bowl 63-3 by Georgia. They do bring in former Clemson/Oregon State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei under center who should keep the offense rolling as they begin the season as favorites.

The Seminoles and Tigers top the list of favorites this fall, but Miami, NC State, Virginia Tech, Louisville and SMU aren't too far behind. Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Syracuse, and California headline the next tier, with Boston College, Wake Forest, and Pitt likely to be fighting for bowl eligibility. Duke, Stanford, and Virginia face a tough path. Some of these schedules are absolutely brutal.

Clemson and Miami will compete for the top spot. The Hurricanes bring in Cam Ward who entered the draft before transferring from Washington State. Cade Klubnik returns under center for the Tigers and Dabo Swinney who is not interested in the transfer portal. NC State brings in Grayson McCall from Coastal Carolina to lead that offense while the defense looks to rebuild from last season.
