Patriots announce official titles for front office and coaching staff
Ahead of training camp, the official titles for the Patriots front office and coaching staff in 2024 were announced.
It’s been an offseason of change for the New England Patriots front office and coaching staff, following the organization parting ways with longtime head coach and de facto general manager Bill Belichick. While additions and reorganizations have been taking place over the past couple of months, they were all made official on Tuesday when the team announced full titles for the 2024 season.
At the top of the front office is Eliot Wolf, whose title of executive director of player personnel was previously announced by the team after their official search for a lead personnel executive. Wolf had final say during this past offseason for the Patriots.
Wolf’s No. 2 will be Matt Groh, whose title remains director of player personnel. Groh has had that title since 2022, working as Belichick’s personnel lead.
Four of the Patriots front office staffers received promotions from last year. Patrick Stewart is now director of pro personnel after working in the Patriots’ pro personnel department from 2007-2017 and then returning in 2021. Sam Fioroni will be is assistant after spending the last three years as a pro scout. Marshall Oium was promoted to director of football strategy, a title that didn’t exist last year. He was previously the assistant director of scouting. Marquis Dickerson was also promoted from scouting assistant to pro scout.
The Patriots also announced five new hires to the front office. That group is highlighted by Alonzo Highsmith, whose title will be senior personnel executive. Also joining the staff are area scout (Midwest) Casey Belongia, pro scout Bob Kronenberg, and scouting assistants A.J. Richardson and Landon Simpson.
As for the coaching staff, most of that group had been announced by the team back in February. Tuesday’s release included a few new names though, in offensive coaching assistant Omar Young and strength and conditioning assistants Dexter Taylor and Brandon Martuccio.
Not included on the list is Troy Brown, who had been the Patriots’ wide receivers coach since 2021. Mayo told reporters back in March that Brown was expected to remain on the staff in “a skills development role.”
