Report: Raiders hiring two more offensive assistant coaches from Patriots
When Josh McDaniels was first introduced as the next coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, one of the first questions was what members of the Patriots’ coaching staff would the former New England offensive coordinator take with him. The answer to that question continues to grow.
Saturday night, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Patriots’ wide receivers coach Mick Lombardi and offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo will be joining McDaniels’ staff in Vegas. According to Schefter, Lombardi will be the Raiders’ offensive coordinator while Bricillo will fill the same role he had with the Patriots.
Lombardi’s NFL career began with the Patriots’ scouting department in 2011. In 2013, he left for a coaching role with the San Francisco 49ers, eventually making his way to the Jets before returning to New England as the assistant quarterbacks coach in 2019. He then moved to receivers coach for 2020 and 2021.
