Mookie Betts traded: Late Tuesday night the Red Sox dealt 2018 AL MVP Mookie Betts to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-team trade. In return, Boston received outfielder Alex Verdugo from the Dodgers and the Minnesota Twins top pitching prospect Brusdar Graterol.
Bruins shut out Canucks: Returning to TD Garden for the first time since the All-Star break the Bruins won their fourth straight game, topping the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 Tuesday night. Tuukka Rask picked up his third shutout of the season.
NBA trade deadline looms: As is usually the case, expect to hear Celtics rumors galore. Is this the year Danny Ainge finally pulls one off? He has until 3 p.m. Thursday to make a deal.
Tonight’s Games:
Boston Celtics vs. Orlando Magic, 7:30 p.m.: The Celtics take a four-game win streak into their matchup with the Magic Wednesday at TD Garden. Boston will be without Robert Williams (hip) and Daniel Theis (ankle) for the game, and are still waiting on the status of four other players including Kemba Walker. Boston won their only other game against the Magic this year, coming back from down 16 in Orlando last Friday to take the game 109-98. Sean Grande and Cedric Maxwell will be on the call on 105.7 WROR, with pregame coverage starting at 7 p.m.
Boston Bruins @ Chicago Blackhawks, 8 p.m.: Another back-to-back for the Bruins, who take a four-game winning streak of their own to Chicago for a game with the Blackhawks. The B’s dropped their only other contest against Chicago this year, a 4-3 overtime loss at TD Garden back on December 5. Judd Sirott and Bob Beers have the call on 98.5 The Sports Hub, with pregame coverage beginning at 7:30.
