Zolak & Bertrand

On Thursday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, we discuss whether there’s some form of collusion going on with the Lamar Jackson situation.

  • Never seen so many teams be out on a QB so fast...

Joe Murray: It is absolutely wacked that teams have until July to talk to him and now they’re saying they’re not pursuing him.

Scott Zolak: Like 8 have already said they’re out. It’s odd timing.

Joe Murray: And listen if I’m the Patriots, I just bring him in. Again, hey, what do you think of, you know, bar pizza? What do you think of this? Hey, what are you guys running there? Why’d Greg Roman leave? How was it having a full back? Just things like that…

Hardy: If you believe the conspiracy theories on this, it’s collusion. It’s every owner in the league that needs a quarterback somehow deciding no one is going to sign Lamar Jackson. And Felger & Mazz talked about it yesterday and they were eloquent…

Scott Zolak: Jimmy Haslam set this thing in a whole different direction with the Deshaun (Watson) deal.

Hardy: I don’t believe it. I don’t think that every team that needs a quarterback got on the phone with each other and said, okay, you know, no one’s signing Lamar Jackson on this unrestricted free agent thing. Right? Nobody gave up the two picks and give the money. Right? No, I’m sorry I don’t believe like most conspiracy theories, I don’t believe it. Okay it’s not a conspiracy theory it’s collusion… Okay? It still requires the acquiescence and the cooperation of a bunch of ultra competitive alpha males and the first opportunity one of these guys has to get over on the other guy, they’re going to do it.

    Scott Zolak: I’m with you.

Hardy: I do not believe in the collusion thing. At least in this case, I do not buy it.

  • Ryan Clark is definitely on the side of this being collusion
