Zolak & Bertrand

On Zolak & Bertrand, Scott Zolak made it clear the Patriots need to go back to the Tom Brady offense next season.

Scott Zolak: It’s like the same thing on defense. You want to run a 4-3 or 3-4? Four. Are you going to be a sub team? Are you going to be a tampa-two team? What’s your scheme? What’s your personnel? The personnel showed you you’re not a fast moving, fast playing west-coast type offensive single-back team. Your forte, as you found out in 2018 when you needed identity, was to run the ball with a fullback and an offensive line that came off the ball and two backs that could run and he sort of caught fire with that at the end of December and then he went on a Super Bowl run. That’s what good teams do. You figure out what you are and what you do. They can never figure out what they were this year. Then the last two games you started to push it down field a little bit. Holy crap, that stuff actually works. DeVante Parker, can go up and get the ball. Wow. I mean, I think Mac (Jones) can handle the old system, and I think it’s more complicated. I think it is. The other stuff’s too simple. It, like, dumbs it down. It really does to me. When you minimize things, less options, less thinking. Yeah, but do you have the players that just react to go out play? Doesn’t seem like you do.
