On Monday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, Beetle made it clear that he thought Mac Jones was obnoxious last night.
Marc Bertrand: I found Mac Jones’s complaining in the first half of that game yesterday, obnoxious. Because if you want to complain about your coaches and you want to complain about not being up to speed, you want to complain about plays taking too long to get to the huddle, you want to complain about all these things that you feel will put you in a bad spot. And by the way, I’ve been a pretty Big Mac Jones defender. Have I not?
Scott Zolak: We both have. Yes, because I like the fire. I think it is part fire. I think it is part competitiveness of wanting to win and being ready yourself and maybe everybody else isn’t. And that’s his frustration coming out.
Marc Bertrand: Except when you personally are not playing well and you are missing throws and you’re bad for your team in the first half, you have no right yelling at anybody else.
Scott Zolak: When you’re 2-for-14 on third down, you’re not going to beat anybody and it’s not going to give you the ability to show anyone up.
Marc Bertrand: I mean, before they called the timeout, which, by the way, is more dysfunction, they had a touchdown to Jakobi Meyers, but they negated it with having called the timeout. Prior to that was the Jonnu Smith play, where he had him open and he threw a ball that nobody could have got. That ball was uncatchable, where he threw that ball. It was out of bounds. Well out of bounds. And Smith had no shot on the play because of that throw. None, when he was about to get open. Ball was poorly thrown. It was a crap throw.
