Zolak & Bertrand

On Tuesday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, Beetle made it clear that Mac Jones’ temper tantrums are finally over.

  • Bill O'Brien is a great hire

Marc Bertrand: It is an excellent hire for the Patriots for so many reasons. And I understand that he’s got a history with Bill and so people look at that sometimes and say, oh, it’s just another one of Bill’s guys. But the personality of Bill O’Brien, which has been shown publicly, you’ve seen it as a fan famously, the 2011 sideline blow up with Tom Brady. That to me is a good thing to throw in the mix here and there’s no there’s no time figuring out how to work with Bill, how to work under Bill. None of that. They don’t have to spend any time on that because honestly, I’ve felt for two years now, if we count this upcoming year, they don’t have time to waste. And so they will waste no time in figuring out their working relationship, that will be seamless. He’s a guy who pushes back on everybody, pushes back on his head coach has been a head coach. Has a legitimate resumé and is going to put Mac Jones in his place if he decides to have an on-field meltdown. This is it. That’s the end of the Mac Jones on field meltdowns. Bill O’Brien will not stand for it. Bill O’Brien will match his meltdown and add 10.
