Zolak & Bertrand

On Monday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, Marc Bertrand slammed the Patriots for being undisciplined and stupid against the Vikings.

  • This completely falls on coaching

Beetle: Now, all their mistakes were not penalties though. The sequence before halftime is unforgivable. Hunter Henry not stepping out of bounds. Unforgivable. I don’t know how you teach that. How you fix that. That should be instinct. That’ he has played as much football in his life as he is played until now, to not know to get out of bounds there, I don’t know how you fix that. I mean, that is such a stupid play. That is the type of play, that sequence, those penalties, all I could think about during this game was, this is what we would do every Monday when we would come in and say why the other team was stupid. That play was followed up by Mac Jones taking a slide in the middle of the field. That’s the quarterback. You know, the Patriots lead the league in holding. They’ve got 20 holding calls on them. They have 25 pre-snap penalties so far this season. I hate to say it, but they’re an undisciplined, stupid team and you can’t fix stupid. They’re an undisciplined, stupid team, and it costs them a game that could have put them in a really good position. Really good. And yesterday was the first week that I started scoreboard watching. I’m sure that’s true for other people as well and it didn’t go well.

    Zo: Nope. Whole division won.

Beetle: Yesterday sucked. Game after game going against the Patriots. And so at the end of the day, when you’re a stupid football team, who do you look to? Typically, what have we looked to over the years?

    Zo: Coach.

Beetle: The coach. That’s why this game is maddening. They could have won that football game.

Zo: Oh, yeah. It’s upsetting. You’re better off getting your ass kicked.
