WATCH: Kyrie Irving appears to stomp on Celtics’ logo after Nets’ Game 4 win in Boston
Kyrie Irving is no stranger to controversy in Boston. And while Celtics fans let him hear it almost non-stop for two games this weekend, he walked away with the last laugh.
In Sunday night’s Game 3, Irving struggled in what was his first game in front of Celtics fans following his departure in 2019. However, he made up for that performance by putting on a show in Game 4 with 39 points and 11 rebounds. Yet despite that impressive performance, it was what he did postgame that caught the attention of C’s fans the most.
While meeting up with his teammates following Brooklyn’s 141-126 win, Irving appears to forcefully drag his foot across the head of the Celtics’ mascot on the center court logo at TD Garden.

This wasn’t the only moment Irving found himself in the spotlight postgame. As he walked off the court, a fan threw a water bottle in his direction.
As for the Celtics, the hope is they’ll get Irving back in the building to face that logo at least one more time. The Nets can eliminate the Celtics with a win in Game 5 on Tuesday. That game will be played in the Barclays center in Brooklyn.
