Fans who are excited to see Evan Fournier make his Celtics debut shouldn’t have to wait much longer. According to the team, Fournier is available for Monday night’s game against the Pelicans.
The Celtics have played twice since acquiring Fournier from the Magic at the NBA trade deadline. He missed Friday’s win against the Bucks while he was in Boston taking his physical, and was in the league’s health & safety protocols for Sunday’s win in Oklahoma City.
While Fournier will offer a boost to the lineup, the Celtics will be without four players – including two starters – when they take the floor Monday night. Among those four is Jaylen Brown, who is listed on the team’s injury report with a ‘left hip contusion.’ Semi Ojeleye remains out as well with a ‘left side strain.’ Tristan Thompson and Romeo Langford are both still in the health & safety protocol, and are unavailable.
Fournier won’t be the only one making his debut Monday night. Fans will return to TD Garden for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began, at 12 percent capacity. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m., and you can catch the call of the game on 98.5 The Sports Hub.
