After missing out on Myles Turner earlier in the weekend, the Celtics finally have their big man.
Boston has signed center Tristan Thompson to a two-year, $19 million contract, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
The fourth overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, Thompson spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was a part of their championship run in 2016.

At 29 years old, Thompson is coming off a career year, when he averaged a career-high 12 points per game to go along with 10.1 rebounds. It was the second consecutive season the Texas product averaged a double-double.
Thompson should play a key role for the Celtics in 2021. He’ll factor into the “big man” spot in the Celtics rotation with Daniel Theis and Robert Williams. The team also has Tacko Fall as a fourth center.
The move leaves the Celtics with about $4 million to spend, as the team continues to search for a backup point guard and bench shooter.
