Gunner Olszewski ruled out for Sunday’s opener
By Alex Barth, 985TheSportsHub.com
The Patriots game statuses for Sunday’s opener have been released, with both good and bad news for the team.
We’ll start with the bad, as Gunner Olszewski has been ruled out with a foot injury. The second-year receiver was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday before being held out completely on Friday. Olszewski was one of the stars of Patriots training camp, but now it’ll be at least another week before we see if that carries over to the regular season.
That’s not it for the wide receivers either, as N’Keal Harry was added to the report with a shoulder injury, and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. Harry did not appear on the list Wednesday or Thursday, and was listed as a ‘full participant’ Friday.

With Olszewski out and Harry banged up, the Patriots enter Sunday’s game with just three healthy receivers on the active roster (plus Matthew Slater). The team still has an open spot on the 53-man roster after placing Yodny Cajuste on IR on Thursday, so don’t be surprised to see a signing, such as Devin Ross promoted from the practice squad.
The good news for the Patriots is that two key players were removed from the report entirely. Julian Edelman had been limited Wednesday and Thursday with a knee injury, and Stephon Gilmore was added on Thursday with a hamstring issue. Both will be full go for Sunday.
As for the Dolphins, despite listing more players than the Patriots throughout the week, they only have one player assigned a status for Sunday – safety Clayton Fejedelem is ‘doubtful’ with a pectoral injury.
