The Patriots continue to set up visits as NFL free agency rolls along. According to Denver Broncos tight end Matt LaCosse is visiting the New England Patriots today, according to a league source
An undrafted free agent, the 26-year-old LaCosse started his career with the Giants and since moved to the Broncos. He caught 24 passes for 250 yards and a touchdown in 2018 with Denver. LaCosse brings good size to the table at 6-foot-6 and 255 pounds.
It sure looks like the Patriots are in the market for a tight end, considering Rob Gronkowski’s uncertain future and their reported interest in free agent Jared Cook. The latter is arguably the best tight end available in NFL free agency.
LaCosse could bring some untapped potential as a pass-catcher to the Patriots offense on an extremely affordable deal.
