Toucher & Hardy

On Thursday’s Toucher & Hardy program Fantasy Football expert Dave Richards gave out his best under the radar players.

Dave Richards: Fantasy Sleepers

Parts of conversation abbreviated for clarity.

  • Isaac Guerendo

Dave Richards: I like to give you guys these names. This is for the benefit of everybody! First of all, double-check for Isaac Guerendo. I would imagine he’s already been picked up in every league.

  • Sincere McCormick

Richards: Also, I think there’s a chance that the Raiders will use more of a guy named Sincere McCormick. It sounds like a made-up name Key and Peele would’ve spoofed, but he’s a real guy. He doesn’t look bad for the Raiders. I would play him over Kareem Hunt right now.

Fred Toucher: Alright, I just picked him up. So, I should start him over Kareem Hunt?

Richards: Yes, I would start him over Kareem Hunt. And even if Alexander Mattison is active and he plays, I think McCormick is somebody that the Raiders can do well with. I don’t know if the Buccaneers’ run defense is as good as the Panthers made him look last week.

Toucher: Alright, there you go. He’s in the lineup.

  • Blake Corum

Toucher: Well, you just gave us a name there. As you said, this is a big Bye week for teams. If you had one player that you could stash, who would it be? For example, say people have guys that are on IR and they’re dumping guys. If you had one guy that you could stash, who would be that player? A guy to stash for a rainy day or injury.

Richards: So, you’re talking about a running back that people can find on the waiver wire and potentially use down the line? I would start with Blake Corum of the LA Rams. We saw a good game from Kyren Williams against the Saints, but everybody runs well against New Orleans. But I wonder if the Rams are starting to toy with the idea of starting to lower just how many touches Williams gets from game to game.

Perhaps when the team is eliminated from playoff contention, Kyren Williams takes a seat and they let Blake Corum be the feature guy. So, this is a name that’s been on the tip of my tongue since he got drafted.

    Toucher: The Michigan kid?

Richards: Yes, and he’s good. I think that he’s a good fit for this offense. I know the coaching staff likes him. That offensive line is in good shape right now. It’s just a matter of just how many opportunities he would get right now.
