Albert Breer: Mike Vrabel wouldn’t be sentimental over a return to the Patriots
On Wednesday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, Albert Breer of SI and MMQB touched on why Mike Vrabel wouldn’t be sentimental over a potential return to the Patriots.
It’s a fair equation to do…
Albert Breer:
The job has become more attractive. So, do you strike while the iron’s hot? Like I don’t blame you guys for asking that question. I don’t. It’s a fair question if you view Mike Vrabel like I do as like a top 6,7,8, head coach in the NFL and football. You have a pretty good idea that he’s going to be a head coach next year, which means if you move on from Jerod Mayo after 2025 or 2026, he won’t be available to you. Well then, like that’s a fair equation to do in your head where it’s like, ok, is it worth riding this out with Jerod if the cost is having a shot at Mike Vrabel.
Marc Bertrand:
Yeah, I’d say the answer is no. I would go after Mike Vrabel. It’s not worth writing it out with Jerod unfortunately
Albert Breer:
The thing about Mike is that he doesn’t strike me as like sentimental. You know, as far as this being a homecoming or anything like that..
Marc Bertrand:
I don’t know. He sure sounded sentimental about it when he was here last season.
Albert Breer:
I don’t think he views it that way right now based on where they are right now. My guess would be based on what happened with him in Tennessee, he’s going to take a very cold hard look at wherever his next opportunity comes.
