Four players removed from Patriots injury report on Tuesday
The New England Patriots held their first and only full practice of the week on Tuesday, ahead of their Thursday Night Football matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite removing four players from the injury report on Tuesday, things are still shaping up for the Patriots’ offense to be shorthanded come Thursday.
There were only two non-participants at Patriots practice on Tuesday in wide receiver Demario Douglas (concussion) and running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle). It was reported earlier in the day on Tuesday that Stevenson is expected to miss time with an ankle injury.

Wide receiver Kayshon Boutte (shoulder) returned to practice on Tuesday in a limited capacity after missing all of last week. Boutte was listed as a non-participant on Monday’s estimated injury report.
The Patriots had six other limited players in wide receivers DeVante Parker (knee) and JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle), offensive linemen Trent Brown (ankle/hand) and Riley Reiff (knee), defensive lineman Christian Barmore (shoulder) and linebacker Chris Board (back). Brown’s injury designated changed from last week, when he was listed with ankle and chest injuries. During the stretching period of practice that was open to the media Brown was present but stood off to the side while the rest of the team went through stretch lines.
The four players removed from the injury report were running back Ezekiel Elliott (thigh), guard Sidy Sow (ankle), defensive lineman Deatrich Wise (illness), and cornerback Shaun Wade (illness). Wise missed this past Sunday’s game due to that illness, while Wade began the game but was pulled and did not return.
For the Steelers, the big practice news on Tuesday was the absence of running back Najee Harris (knee). Harris was not listed on Monday’s estimated injury report. Three Steelers were upgraded from Monday DNPs to limited, including defensive tackle Cam Heyward (not injury related/rest, groin) and former Patriots linebacker Elandon Roberts (groin).
