Patriots issue positive update on Isaiah Bolden
Sunday morning’s update on injured Patriots cornerback Isaiah Bolden is a positive one. According to a statement from the team, the 23-year-old seventh-round pick has been released from the hospital.
“After undergoing a series of evaluations and being held for overnight observations, Patriots cornerback Isaiah Bolden has been released from the Aurora Bay Medical Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where he was transported to after sustaining an on-field injury in the fourth quarter of Saturday night’s preseason game between the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers,” the statement reads. “Isaiah will travel with the team today. We thank the medical staff at Aurora Bay Medical Center for their overnight evaluations, as well as the Patriots and Packers medical staffs for their immediate on-field response and care in transporting Isaiah to a nearby hospital.”
Bolden’s injury led to Saturday night’s game between the Patriots and Packers being suspended early in the fourth quarter. After taking a hit while trying to make a tackle, Bolden had remained down on the field for an extended period of time while being attended to by team and league medical staff before being taken off the field on a backboard and brought to Aurora Bay Medical Center.

In addition to updating Bolden’s condition, the Patriots also announced the cancelation of their scheduled joint practices with the Tennessee Titans this week. According to the statement, “due to the circumstances surrounding the abrupt and unexpected ending to last night’s game, the Patriots will return to Foxborough today.”
Originally, the Patriots were scheduled to fly from Green Bay – where they held joint practices this week prior to Saturday night’s preseason game – to Nashville for another week of joint practices leading up to the preseason finale with the Titans. In total, the team was set to be on the road for 11 days. Instead, the team will now return home to Foxborough on Sunday, holding training camp practices at Gillette Stadium this week instead of the joint practices with the Titans. They’ll still play the Titans in the preseason finale Friday night, flying out on Thursday before the game.
