Patriots practice offers updates on Adrian Phillips, Damien Harris, Kyle Dugger
Coming off of the bye week, there are a number of player health situations to keep track of on the Patriots roster. Tuesday’s practice was the first chance we’ve had to see the team since last Monday night’s win in Buffalo, offering an update on the players that left that game early.
Both safety Adrian Phillips and running back Damien Harris were at practice on Tuesday. Phillips also spoke with the media beforehand.
“Everything has checked out pretty well,” Phillips told reporters on Tuesday. “At the time, I was like, ‘Oh crap!’ I didn’t want to get hurt or anything like that. You don’t know how severe the injury is or whatever it may be. Just taking it day by day and working with the training staff and going from there.”
The Patriots also got two players back from IR on Tuesday. Safety Kyle Dugger practiced for the first time since being placed on COVID-reserve last Wednesday. Linebacker Josh Uche was also present for the first time since being placed on IR last month with an ankle injury. Uche hasn’t played since the team’s Week 10 win over Carolina. Upon his return to practice, the Patriots now have three weeks to officially add him to the active roster or he’ll be ineligible to play for the remainder of the year.
There were three players not spotted at Tuesday’s practice. Running back J.J. Taylor wasn’t present for the media portion of the session – he’s been on COVID-reserve since Nov. 29. Offensive tackle Yodny Cajuste and practice squad guard Alex Redmond also weren’t on the field. More clarity on their situations should come with the first injury report of the week Tuesday afternoon.
