Two starters return to Patriots practice on Thursday
For the second day in a row, the Patriots have 16 players listed on their injury report. However, things are trending in the right direction for a pair of defensive starters.
Linebacker Dont’a Hightower (elbow/ankle) and lineman Deatrich Wise (knee) were both upgraded to ‘limited’ on Thursday. Neither player practiced on Wednesday. Three players remained out for the Patriots in defensive linemen Davon Godchaux (finger) and cornerbacks Jonathan Jones (shoulder/ankle) and Shaun Wade (concussion).
11 other players were limited on Thursday. It’s a defense-heavy list with lineman Christian Barmore (shoulder), linebackers Ja’Whaun Bentley (ribs), Josh Uche (shoulder), and Kyle Van Noy (groin), and defensive backs Kyle Dugger (knee), Jalen Mills (hamstring), and Adrian Phillips (back). Running back Brandon Bolden (thigh) and guard Shaq Mason (abdomen) are the offensive player listed, while kicker Nick Folk (left knee) and coverage specialist Brandon King represent special teams.

There was one update on the Jets’ side of the report, with safety Marcus Maye (ankle) going from a limited to full participant. Linebacker C.J. Mosley (hamstring) did not participate for the second day in a row after being described as day-to-day earlier this week.
