Two players added to Patriots injury report on Thursday
It may be Week 2, but the Patriots’ injury report is in mid-season form. Two more players were added on Thursday, bringing the total to nine as the Patriots get ready to face the New York Jets on Sunday.
Tight end Jonnu Smith (hip) and kicker Quinn Nordin (abdomen) were both listed as limited on Thursday. Smith’s status is one to monitor, as he missed time during the spring and summer with two separate injuries. Nordin was a healthy scratch last week as Nick Folk was recalled from the practice squad. Tackle Yodny Cajuste (hamstring) and linebacker Ronnie Perkins (shoulder) remain limited as well.
Tackle Trent Brown (calf) and linebacker Kyle Van Noy (throat) both missed practice for the second straight day. That leaves both players’ statuses in doubt for Sunday. At practice on Thursday, Yasir Durant was taking snaps with the first team offense at right tackle.
Meanwhile, wide receiver Nelson Agholor (ankle), and safeties Kyle Dugger (wrist) and Jalen Mills (ankle) were listed as full participants.
For the Jets, two of their top receivers were limited in Keelan Cole (knee) and Jamison Crowder (groin). Crowder was activated from COVID-IR earlier Thursday afternoon, so he wasn’t listed in the injury report on Wednesday.
