Patriots sign former Titans defensive tackle

It turns out adding Isaiah Ford wasn’t the only move for the Patriots during Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline.
About an hour after the deadline passed, the Patriots claimed former Titans defensive tackle Isaiah Mack off waivers, according to USA Today’s Justin Melo.
Mack is a second-year UDFA out of Chattanooga. He played 13 games as a rookie for Tennessee last year, starting one. He’d played six this season before getting waived on Tuesday following the team trading for Desmond King.
At 6-foot-1, 299 pounds, Mack is a bit smaller than the Patriots typical defensive tackle. But with Lawrence Guy going down with an injury Sunday, he could provide depth as a hybrid 3-4 defensive line prototype.
The Patriots now have six defensive tackles on their roster in Adam Butler, Lawrence Guy, Byron Cowart, Nick Thurman, Carl Davis, and Mack. They also have rookie UDFA Bill Murray on the practice squad.
