The New England Patriots listed a total of five players on their first injury report of the 2020 season.
Of the five players, two are wide receivers. Julian Edelman (Knee) and Gunner Olszewski (Foot) were both limited at Wednesday’s practice. Edelman had his workload managed throughout training camp, and Olszewski had been absent from practice for the previous few days. If both are truly banged up, the Patriots would enter Sunday’s game with just three healthy receivers on the roster, unless Devin Ross was recalled from the practice squad.
In addition, tackle Yodney Cajuste and linebacker Cassh Maluia did not participate in Wednesday’s session. Both are listed with knee injuries. Defensive end Chase Winovich was limited with a shoulder issue.
As for the Miami Dolphins, they had seven players show up on their initial injury report. Six were limited, including former Patriot Kyle Van Noy (Hand), starting wide receiver DeVante Parker (Hamstring), and two starting corners in Byron Jones (Achilles) and Xavien Howard (Knee). Rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (Hip) was listed as a full participant.
