Potential Patriots target Gerald McCoy could visit Browns

A number of reports have linked the Patriots to six-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, who was released earlier this week by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it comes as no surprise that there will be competition for McCoy’s services.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the Browns have expressed interest in McCoy, and the feeling is apparently mutual.
“The Browns are one of a few teams Gerald McCoy is intrigued by, and he could make a visit to Cleveland if things progress,” Cabot wrote.
According to Cabot, the Browns have been in touch with McCoy’s camp.
Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times was the first to suggest the Patriots could be interested in McCoy. Adam Schefter of ESPN also indicated the Patriots would look at bringing McCoy in.
Reports out of Indianapolis have also suggested the Colts will make a push for the 31-year-old McCoy, who was released when the Bucs decided against paying his $13 million salary in 2019.
McCoy will likely line up visits in the coming days, according to Cabot.
