Report: Jets could have NFL sideline reporter Peter Schrager consult on GM search
By Matt McCarthy, 985TheSportsHub.com
It’s safe to say there’s no organization in sports quite like the New York Jets.
A week after firing general manager Mike Maccagnan amid an apparent power struggle between him and new head coach Adam Gase, the Jets could now look for assistance from NFL sideline reporter and media personality Peter Schrager to help them pick their new GM.
Seriously.
Jets won’t be hiring a search firm/consultant for GM search like they did for the previous two hires.

However, they’ve told people that TV personality & sideline reporter Peter Schrager could be contacted for assistance on prospective candidates. His name has come up internally
Schrager, who works for NFL Network and Fox Sports in a number of capacities, does not have any front office experience.
The Jets have tapped Gase as their interim general manager while they search for Maccagnan’s replacement.
